Summer update – 2018


Great News! River Gardeners’ Association now have a website: www.rivergardeners.com

We have added Show dates, Schedule downloads, the online entry form and a “Kids Section” to our website so far, and we will be continuously adding, expanding and improving the content available. We hope this site will become the go-to site for all things Gardening in the future!

Summer Show

Our Summer Show on 30th June proved more popular with exhibitors, receiving over 100 exhibits of a varied nature including Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers, Cookery, Floral Art, Photography and Children’s entries. The Judges noted the quality of the exhibits and they are hoping to see an increased amount at our Autumn Show on Saturday 29th September. We aim is to make this our biggest and best show of the year, and we need more exhibitors and more visitors to do this.

If you are aged 7 and under why not enter “An Autumn Collage” any media Max. size A4

8 to 12 years – 3 Decorated Fairy Cakes (Cakes can be bought)

Or if you are a budding photographer aged up to 12 years, there are 2 classes for you:-

  • A Photo of Autumn Trees
  • A Photo of a Spiders Web

There are cash prizes for the winners of the Children’s Classes. All you need to do is fill in the entry form on the website or email us on the address below.

River Primary School

River School produced an excellent display of work from all age groups that was a feature in the Main Hall.

We would like to thank them for all their hard work and hope to see parents and Grandparents at the next show to view their work.

After 20 years service to River Gardener’s Association Mr E Boughton has retired from the post of Show Secretary and we thank him for all his hard work. Our new Show Secretary is Mrs B Jaconelli who looks forward to taking the reins!
